The Courtyard festival aims to nourish neighborly relations and foster the community spirit among the residents of Kaunas city and district. As Kaunas is Capital of European Culture 2022, this year the festival will offer unprecedented number of activities.
The final highlight of the cultural festival program will be the concert of Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra in Independence Square. Well-known Ukrainian performers – conductor Oksana Madarash, soprano Kseniya Bakhritdinova-Kravchuk and tenor Anatolii Pohrebnyi – will perform together with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra.
Oksana Madarash is a conductor, teacher, and Honoured Artist of Ukraine. She was born in the town of Buchach, Ternopil region, Ukraine. She has received her higher professional education at the Thaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, the speciality ‘Choir and opera-symphonic conducting’. Since 2002, Oksana Madarash has been the conductor-director of Kyiv National Academic Theatre of Operetta. Additionally, she is both the artistic director and conductor of the chamber orchestra at Kyiv Children’s Academy of Arts, which is the laureate of the First Yevhen Stankovych International Instrumental Contest. Oksana Madarash is a participant of numerous international festivals and music contests.
