Until now, Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra has introduced classical works for children and young people such as H. Ch. Andersen’s tale „The Steadfast Tin Soldier“, C. Saint-San’s „Carnival of the Animals“, 2018 KCSO has prepared and presented a symphonic fairy tale for children of the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev for the orchestra and reader „Peter and the Wolf“.
1936 S. Prokofiev created a musical fairy tale for the symphony orchestra and reader. This is an interesting story, which is accompanied by wonderful music, in which different instruments of the orchestra become personalized by those fairy tale‘s character. Each character in the fairy tale will come up with an instrument sounding it, and the reader will interpret the story created more than 80 years ago.
