On September 25, Delos releases Stephen Costello’s latest album, Be My Love. The recording – his second on the label – pays homage to tenor Mario Lanza and features a selection of songs that echo the famed singer’s favorite repertoire, highlighting his mastery of diction and legato, and clarion high notes. For Stephen, Lanza served as an inspiration as a singer hailing from his own hometown. “As a tenor raised in Northeast Philadelphia, recording an album dedicated to Mario Lanza felt like coming home in the most profound way,” Stephen says. The album is recorded with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra conducted by Constantine Orbelian.
