At the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra concert, audiences will experience a unique and captivating combination of guitar and orchestra. This is an evening where the guitar and orchestra are not only partners but also become voices in a dramatic musical narrative, enchanting with their originality and emotional intensity.
The guest artist is Krzysztof Meisinger, performing in Lithuania for the first time. He is one of the most outstanding guitarists of his generation in Europe. His performance is distinguished not only by technical mastery but also by exceptional stage presence and the ability to reveal every musical nuance. Meisinger’s repertoire spans both classical guitar masterpieces and contemporary works that cross genre boundaries and experiment with instrumentation and style. During the concert, he will create a unique musical dialogue with the orchestra, where the guitar can be both a delicate lyrical voice and a dramatic expression of power.
The first part of the concert features works by Astor Piazzolla for guitar and orchestra, blending passion, rhythmic energy, and melancholy into a compelling tango narrative. In the second part, audiences will hear Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, better known as the “Eroica” – a work symbolizing the grandeur and heroic spirit of its era, in which the orchestral sound reveals the monumental character of the music.
