Kaunas Symphony debuts in Helsinki with baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky
Siberian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky gives his first performance of the New Year at Helsinki's Finlandia Hall, performing a concert of operatic arias and Neapolitan melodies with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Constantine Orbelian on January 19. The musical program comprises signature scenes from operas by Verdi, Wagner, Bellini, Rubinstein, and Bizet, including "Na vozdushnom okeane" from The Demon and the fiery "Cortigiani, vil razza dannata" from Rigoletto. The sounds of Naples close the evening with performances by Dmitri, Maestro Orbelian, and the orchestra of "Passione," "Dicitencello vuje" and "Parlami d'amore Mariù"
